South Leicestershire MP Andrew Robathan, visited Lutterworth College today to talk to some of the students about life as a constituency MP and as a Government Minister.
He said “I think it is critical that we do all that we can to encourage young people to take an active interest in politics and to think carefully about different policies given that in a very short time they will be able to vote. I am always very impressed when I visit the college by how well informed the students are and the detailed questions I’m asked. I’m sure this will be another challenging but very enjoyable session.”
Later he visited British gas’ National Distribution Centre. As well as having a tour of the facility he also met Andrew Bacon, Regional Director for British Gas in the East Midlands.
Mr Robathan commented “This is a very timely visit and, as well as looking around the plant, I look forward to discussing what can be done to help people as we approach the coldest months of the year at a time when pressure on fuel prices is causing real worry for many families.”
