It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Anne Jones recently.

Chairman of South Leicestershire Conservatives Cllr Neil Bannister paid the following tribute to Anne -

"Anne has been a member of this Association for at least 30 years and began her campaigning by
supporting our MP at that time, Nigel Lawson.

She was a long-standing secretary of the Blaby and Glen Parva Branch where a number of fundraising events would be held at her home.

Anne was Chairman of the Aspects Group of this Association.     

She was a District Councillor for Blaby.

She helped this Association enormously by her dedication in editing the Association Newsletter – something she did for at least the last 15 years.

Away from the Association she had a role with the Dixie Grammar School and was Chairman of the Leicestershire Speaker’s Group.

Anne has 3 children and umpteen grandchildren.

She was a personal friend to many in this Association  - including myself and we will all miss her dry wit, dedication to serving our local Conservative Party
and her wisdom."

Anne will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
