MP Shines Values at Winstanley Community College

South Leicestershire MP, Andrew Robathan, is to visit Winstanley Community College on Friday, 10th May and has been asked to address the school assembly on their theme of ‘Shine’ values (Supporting others, Hard work, Independence, Never giving up, and Excellence) and, in particular, how these values shaped his own life when he served in the SAS. The Shine values are the college’s core values and represent supporting others, hard work, independence, never giving up and excellence.

Mr Robathan said ‘It is always a pleasure to visit the college and meet the students and staff, but I am particularly pleased to be able to share some of my experience of the importance of these values and I support wholeheartedly the college’s emphasis on this. Education isn’t just about gaining academic qualifications, it’s about equipping young people with the skills they’ll need to make a full and worthwhile contribution in their lives.’
