After months of negotiations and planning the move into our new offices had been accomplished.
So, on February 22nd the official ‘Ribbon Cutting’ took place.
Rupert Matthews, MEP candidate, had kindly agreed to do the honours at our Coffee Morning. A large number of members and guests attended, they drank coffee and seemed to enjoy a really good natter.
The Raffle was drawn, then at the allotted time, 12 noon, Rupert gave a short speech then ‘cut the ribbon’ to officially declare the club’s new extension and our offices open.
Roger Willers, club secretary, said a few words, welcoming SLCAs move into the club. Andrew Robathan, MP and Peter Fuchs, SLCA Chairman also spoke briefly. Members then had the opportunity to go upstairs to see our new offices and the clubs new committee room and office.
Everyone then took their leave loaded down with purchases from our cake stall. We are extremely grateful to Rupert and we wish him well in the European Elections on May 22nd.
