SLCA Chairman elected Area Chairman

SLCA Chairman, Cllr Neil Bannister has recently been elected to lead the Conservative Party across the County by becoming the new Chairman of the Leicestershire, Rutland and City Area Conservatives. Neil forged strong ties across the City and County with members of the Conservative Party during his Police and Crime Commissioner campaign last year, and said “I am delighted to be elected to such an important post and I look forward to being out and about across the our counties and city building on the strong ties of the Conservative Party in Leicestershire and Rutland. I also want to thank the outgoing Chairman, Leigh Higgins for all he did in promoting the Area while he was Chairman.”

Neil’s priorities will be to build on greater communications between the Area and the different Associations, to give support and assistance to Associations, to ensure a transparent and open financial accounting for Area funds and to build on the successful campaigning across the city and county.

Neil is assisted by a great team of officers including County Councillor Amanda Wright as Deputy Chair and Rani Mahal as Events and Finance Officer. Look out for and support Area events!
