SPRING MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
As I write this I have the sun streaming through my window and a nice view of daffodils and snowdrops. Spring is definitely on the way and with the recent announcement by the Prime Minister on his “roadmap” to ease the Coronavirus restrictions coupled with the fantastic news of the successful vaccination programme we have good reason for feeling optimistic.
The public are maintaining their support for the Government and I take heart from the recent opinion polls suggesting a healthy lead over Labour. However, we know that difficult choices still need to be made as we hope for economic recovery in the months ahead.
The Association is gearing up for the County Council elections on the 6th May 2021 with the Police and Crime Commissioner election and a by election in the Stanton and Flamville Ward of Blaby District Council also on that date. We have an excellent slate of candidates who will be working hard in the weeks ahead. I hope that members can give our candidates as much support as possible. Please ensure you exercise your vote for our Conservative candidates.
I am hoping that if all restrictions are lifted after the 21st June 2021 the Association can then start planning social and political events again. We have had a number of new members joining the Association in the past year and it would be great to have an opportunity to meet up over the summer.
Finally, a word about our Annual General Meeting. This will be held via Zoom on Friday 26th March 2021 at 7.30pm. Notices will be sent out shortly. I hope you will be able to join us.

Chairman South Leicestershire Conservative Association.
