Cllr Marian G. Broomhead

Blaby District Council : Blaby South Ward

I have lived in Blaby for over 40 years, along with my husband Peter who grew up in Glen Parva.  We have two sons and two grandchildren who also live in the area, as we all see Blaby as our home.  Over the last seven years I have had the privilege of serving the people of Blaby on the District Council. During that time I had the honour of serving as Chairman of Blaby District Council.

I am Vice Chair of Northfield Medical Centre patient participation group, and a member of other community groups including Blaby Social Centre, Leicestershire speakers, a volunteer and committee member of Connect Blaby together, a group of people who help others doing small tasks, e.g.a bit of gardening, befriending  or shopping for people who live in the Parish of Blaby . I am also a Trustee of Tumaini Jipya, a Charity which helps to provide water aid, classrooms and equipment to a village based in Tanzania. I have been a Parish Councillor for over 14 years, I was involved with getting the neighbourhood plan adopted.

It has been an honour and privilege to represent you my fellow residents and the local community in which I live and I look forward to being able to continue to be your District Councillor.
