Cllr Adrian Clifford

Blaby District Council : Countesthorpe Ward

Adrian Clifford has always lived in Countesthorpe and values the quality of life the villages of Countesthorpe, Kilby and Foston provide.

He is family orientated and strongly believes in the importance of protecting the environment and countryside so important to residents and for future generations.

As District Councillor, Adrian has resolutely supported and successfully represented local residents in their concerns regardingbuilding and housing development. This has included a key role in securing the refusal of a number of recent contentious planning applications, that if approved would have led to an additional 500 more houses being built throughout the area. Adrian passionately believes the voice and concerns of local residents should be heard and reflected within local decision making. He has also been an active member of Countesthorpe Parish Council for 16 years.

Professionally, Adrian has worked within the field of Youth and Community work for over 27 years and has significant experience of working effectively with abroad range of services and different communities. Working alongside Countesthorpe Parish Council colleagues, he has negotiated Parish Council funding to enable development of detached street based youth work in Countesthorpe.

Adrian is committed to further developing services for local young people and is particularly proud of his appointment to the role of Blaby District Council Youth Champion.
