Maggie Wright was born, educated and lives here in the community she wants to represent.

She is married to Neil and they have two grown up sons William and Jonathan.

Maggie is a member of her Parish Chapel and a School Governor at Thurlaston Church of England Primary School.
She has deep rooted interests in the local community serving as Thurlaston Parish Chairman for over 10 years. Maggie remains a serving Parish Councillor and actively organises, participates and supports local events.
Maggie understands and appreciates resident’s concerns because they directly affect her and her family who also live in the Ward. Maggie shares one of the local GP surgeries, understands the pressures of housing developments and experiences the increasing levels of traffic. She strongly believes it is vital for our villages to keep their individual identity especially as the District is facing significant economic challenges and future development.
Maggie will ensure all concerns and views are represented at all levels.

Maggie was first elected to Blaby District Council as Ward Member in 2011. Since that time she has held the Cabinet Portfolio positions for Community Services and Finance, Efficiency and Assets and finishes the term as Deputy Leader.

In May 2018 Maggie was elected as County Councillor for Stoney Stanton and Croft Division. Before this she worked for Age UK Leicestershire and Rutland as a Residential Care and Nursing Homes Advisor.

Congratulations to District and now also County Councillor Maggie Wright who has held the Stoney Stanton and Croft Division for the Conservatives in the by-election that took place on 3rd of May.

I wanted to get more involved in my local community and I have now served on Sapcote Parish Council for six years, the last four as Vice Chairman.

I have served on Blaby District Council since 2011 and have worked as a team with Sheila Scott and Ernie White in looking after your interests.

Except for two years when first married, Paul has lived all his life in Broughton Astley.
At the District Council, Paul is a member of the decision making Executive with responsibility for Corporate and Customer Services.
He is also a Parish Councillor with twenty two years experience and is a past Chairman.
