Over the last year an ever-increasing band of volunteers comprising, councilors, candidates, members and our MP have been meeting each month on a Saturday morning to carry out an essential activity for our association.

Cllr. Maggie Wright holds Stoney Stanton and Croft County Council Seat.

Congratulations to District and now also County Councillor Maggie Wright who has held the Stoney Stanton and Croft Division for the Conservatives in the by-election that took place on 3rd of May.

 

Cllr Louise Richardson Gets Cabinet Post

Blaby District and Leicestershire County Councillor Louise Richardson has been chosen and accepted a position in the County Council Cabinet. In her new post she will be responsible for Equalities, Community Engagement and Rural Partnerships.

 

Councillor Ernie White

The longest serving councillor of Leicestershire County Council and former chairman of Blaby District council, Ernie White, sadly passed away after a short illness on Tuesday at his home in Stoney Stanton.

Remembrance Sunday 12th November 2017 – Whetstone

On Sunday 12th November the annual Whetstone Remembrance Day parade took place following its usual marching route through Whetstone and led by the Scouts band.

Heavily supported by Whetstone Parish Council the turn-out from all walks of life this year was truly amazing.
